At Nagoya Castle samurai spirit is upheld in this symbol and heart of the city. Japan’s fourth most populated city, is the core of the automobile industry. Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology is built inside an old red-brick textile factory. A tour of one of Toyota motor corporation’s high-tech car plants gives real insight. Nagoya also has great shops and a lively night life. In the centre of the city is Midland Square “Sky Promenade,” the city’s best rooftop observatory. Nagoya’s local specialties are Miso-Katsu, pork cutlets covered in red bean Hatcho Miso soybean paste. Or duck your head into an Izakaya restaurant bar to sample Tebasaki, marinated chicken wings.
