Stop by Ireland’s oldest weekly market, The Milk Market on Friday’s Flea for vintage finds, Saturday for foodie’s and with locally produced arts and crafts found on Sunday’s Variety Market. Stroll along Cornmarket Row and pick up a locally made souvenir from the colourful markets. 

Be fascinated by the eclectic antiquities housed in the Hunt museum. Browse artefacts from ancient Greece and Rome, art by modern masters like Jack B Yeats, Pablo Picasso and Henry Moore, and important Irish relics from Neolithic tools to the famous Antrim Cross.

Discover Norman heritage at St. John’s Castle, a 13th Century stronghold on King’s Island in the heart of medieval Limerick. Named after the villainous king from Robin Hood, it is one of the best-preserved Norman castles in Europe. The story is brought to life in an immersive experience that captures the castle’s place in Limerick history, culture and everyday life.

Nearby there are plenty of incredible attractions and curious stories to capture in this intriguing county:

Foynes was a vital hub in the development of transatlantic passenger flight and where the first Irish coffee was served. Stop at the Foynes Island Viewpoint, and be transported back to 1930’s at Foynes Flying Boat & Maritime Museum, to be amazed by memorabilia and a life size replica of a Boeing 314 Flying Boat.

Twenty minutes form the city is the acclaimed 15th century Bunratty Castle & Folk Park, visit for a taste of 19th century rural life or arrange to dine in medieval style at a lavish Banquet. The castle grounds are 26-acre folk park which consists of 30 old buildings and cottages actual representations of homes from all over Ireland as life was in the past century.

Adare village is famous for thatched cottages and golf courses. The charming village is a beautiful blend of cottage cafes, antiques, boutiques, pubs, and friendly faces. Visit the warm and welcoming neo-Gothic castle of Adare Manor, steeped in history, and surrounded by medieval ruins, walled gardens, and winding woodland paths. The inviting Manor is filled with luxurious interiors and offers a wide range of activities.
